Castle Eaton

A small Wiltshire village located between Swindon and Cirencester, Castle Eaton is home to the Red Lion, reputed to be the first pub on the River Thames.

Quiet for most of the year, the summer months see an increase in activity as the Royal International Air Tattoo takes place at nearby RAF Fairford in July.

Occasionally walkers can be seen making their way along the Thames Path that winds between the nearby towns of Cricklade and Lechlade.

Castle Eaton Village Community Committee (VCC)

Welcome to the Castle Eaton VCC home page.

TheCastle Eaton VCC

The VCC decided at the 2010 AGM that we would continue to run the Barn Dance only, due to the large number of non-VCC fund raising activities in the village.

The Barn Dance will enable the VCC in it's reduced role, to ensure ongoing running and maintenance of the children's Play Park.

VCC  Annual General Meeting

This will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday 11 January 2012 in the Village Hall. All villagers are welcome to attend the AGM. Plus, anyone wishing to volunteer for a position on the committee, or as a helper to offer their services, will be more than welcome. An AGM agenda will be posted on the notice board outside the village hall prior to the meeting.

We look forward to seeing you.

Barn Dance 2012

This will be held on Saturday June 30th 2012 and will again feature the excellent Worcester based band "Stone The Crows". The music and the calling, as usual, will be terrific and will help you through the evening, providing a great laugh and a really enjoyable time. You do NOT have to be a professional dancer, this is very much a fun event.

More details will follow during 2012, however please mark this date in your new 2012 diaries.
