The 17th of November saw the Community Safety Partnership team visiting
the village to  offer safety advice and bike marking. This was part of
The Week of action for the North Clusters in Swindon This was the first
time that the Community Safety Partnership had come out to the village .
It was designed to coincide with the weekly coffee morning and the post
office being  open .
It was a successful event with 7 bikes being marked ,lots of security
advice and leaflets being  handed out .Many security items were sold,
two items that proved popular were padlock and hand bag alarms .
The team stayed for two hours then moved on to Hannington then  Blunsdon
.
I have received feed back from Lara Hill from SWBC  ..to says that this
day was the best day of the week with many members of the Community
engaging with the team with about 40 bikes and children scooters been
marked .Thankyou for your support.
Should anyone wish to take advantage of the discounted security items
please contact myself or Swindon Community Safety Team .
With long dark winter nights please take extra care when out and about
in the village ,wear high vis clothing and take a torch as much of the
village does not have a foot path ,also please be vigilant for a
suspicious vehicles ,we have had recently to metal bird feeders taken in
the village ,they may not be of high value but they meant a lot to the
owners .
Christmas is just round the corner with high value present around the
tree, please don't advertise this to unwanted visitors .Lastly myself
